Engagement

The FSP works closely with the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) in the South East and SEEDA, the Regional Development Agency, to ensure that public funds for skills development are directed to the needs of financial services employers in the region. We work with the National Skills Academy for the financial services to ensure learning provision matches employers' needs.

Sector statistics

The South East region covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Kent & Medway, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex. Over 187,300 people work in financial services in the South East. There are over 6,500 financial services companies providing 4.7% of total regional employment. Almost half the financial sector workforce is employed in banks or building societies.
