Education

Education

Education is all about attracting and developing people. We want the best people to come into financial services, we want to give them a clear idea of the breadth of opportunities on offer and ensure they come equipped with the right skills, knowledge and attitude to succeed. We want to develop the current workforce and provide a clear specification of what is required for success in a range of job roles.

We're a support function for the business and for the industry. We provide tools that can be used to make businesses more successful. We play a brokering role between financial services employers on the demand side and education providers on the supply side. This includes schools, colleges, universities, professional bodies, awarding bodies and training providers. We influence policy makers to get a closer match to the needs of financial services; people like government departments and funding agencies. And, of course, we work across the four nations. What we try to do is make it as easy as possible for you.

The following areas are currently listed under our Education section:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Qualifications
  • Higher Education
  • National Occupational Standards (NOS)
  • Sector Qualifications Strategy
  • BAF Diploma

We are continuing to improve and grow our Education to best meet the needs of the industry and all stakeholders involved. We are doing this through a variety of means including our newly developed careers service, Directions. This is a newly introduced programme aimed at helping people at all levels improve their skills and understanding for a career in Financial Services.
