About Financial Services in the North of England Region
- The North of England Region covers a large area comprising
- North East - County Durham, Northumberland, Tees Valley, Tyne and Wear
- North West – Cheshire and Warrington, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Greater Merseyside, Lancashire
- Yorkshire and the Humber – Humberside, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire.
- Around 238,000 people work in financial services in the north, of which about half are in the north west.
- There are 8,840 financial services companies providing approximately 3.5% of the regional employment
- Approximately 10.5% of all financial services jobs in England are in the north.
