MAJOR EMPLOYERS’ ADVISORY FORUM

Main role and responsibilities

  • The Major Employers’ Advisory Forum is a Committee of the Board of the Financial Services Skills Council. It is a vehicle for the exchange of ideas and cooperative action between the Council and the major employers in the sector.
  • Membership of the Forum is open to all companies in the sector employing 1000 staff or more who are also members of the Skills Council.
  • To assist the Skills Council by
    • Advising on labour market and workforce development issues in the sector;
    • Identifying current skills gaps and future training needs;
    • Making a positive contribution to the development and implementation of the Council’s strategic plan;
    • Stimulating awareness of the effect of the Council’s strategies & plans on the sector;
    • Identifying opportunities for cost-efficiency in the implementation of the Council’s initiatives;
    • Identifying issues of importance to larger companies where the Skills Council should make a valuable contribution;
    • Identifying subjects important to the industry for the production of 'stimulus' papers.
