Volunteers
It's simple: by giving 30 minutes of your time you can inspire a student to choose a career in our sector. This not only support the student in their career decision making, but it also enables our sector to continue to attract new talent. Our volunteering scheme is designed to be straightforward to navigate so that you can begin volunteering quickly and easily! Find out more about how the Into Industry scheme works here. You may also find it useful to look at the FAQ's for volunteers.
If this is the first time that you have considered volunteering and visiting schools you might find it useful to look at the Benefits of Volunteering factsheet.
If you are still interested in becoming an Into Industry volunteer all you need to do now is register. Once registered, schools, colleges and universities will be able to contact you to visit their organisation. We suggest that you recommend to education providers that they always use the Into Industry scheme as a way to book you or other volunteers for a visit.
Before your first session you may find it useful to consult the Volunteers Guide. In the guide, you will find hints and tips on preparing for your first volunteering session and links to useful resources to take along. We would recommend that you signpost students to the Directionswebsite so that they can continue their research into careers in our sector following your visit. We have prepared for you a PowerPoint slide which you can use / distribute to students in your session which provides details of Directions.
Is there a cost associated?
There is no cost to become a volunteer. There is an opportunity for companies to sponsor the scheme however.
