Qualifications Forum

Purpose

The purpose of the forum is to support the development and implementation of the sector qualification strategies and provide a mechanism for collaborative engagement.

Objectives
The objectives with the forum are to:

  •  Engage in strategic level discussions about all aspects of qualification development and implementation for the sector 
  • Maintain progress in moving forward towards a more coherent and rational qualifications framework for the financial services sector 
  • Ensure the framework is fit for purpose in meeting the needs of employers and learners, using creative and innovative solutions 
  • Be aware of the global nature of financial services and the ways in which this may affect the strategy adopted by companies to training and education 
  • Take account of new and emerging policy and practice and agree how this should be applied in the context of the sector 
  • Facilitate the introduction of a more stream-lined qualification development and accreditation process 
  • Encourage and support best practice

Membership
Members of the forum include representatives from:

  • Financial services employer 
  • FSSC 
  • QCA, DCELLS, SQA, CCEA 
  • Awarding organisations who offer qualifications in the sector 
  • Other stakeholders dependent on agenda items

All members must be able to commit to action on behalf of their organisation

Meetings

  • The forum will meet up to three times per year, generally in London
