Skills for Life

Skills for life are important for all jobs and help people progress in their careers.   The National Institute of Adult and Continuing Education (NIACE) describe skills for life as the ability to

"read, write, speak English (or Welsh) and use maths to a level necessary to function at work and in society in general"

These skills are often referred to as literacy and numeracy skills.  If you are unsure of the level of your literacy and numeracy skills, or want to find out more about the ways in which you can improve these, please visit one of the following organisations for more information.
