Major Employers' Advisory Forum
Work with your peers to influence the FSSC agenda on issues of importance to major employers in the financial services sector.
What is MEAF?
The Major Employers' Advisory Forum (MEAF) offers a way for major employers in financial services to actively shape skills training, strategy and development within its sector. It provides an opportunity to work with peers in your sector to directly influence the Financial Services Skills Council agenda and associated programmes, ensuring they meet the requirements of major employers now and in the future.
An example of a MEAF driven project is the FSSC Training & Competence resource, launched in 2008. The resource kit is designed to raise awareness and understanding of T&C, particularly among senior managers and is suitable for firms of all sizes. It can be used in a number of different ways; to improve standards of T&C throughout an organisation, to benchmark current policy and to improve the effectiveness of current training delivery.
MEAF and the FSSC
Membership of MEAF is exclusively for Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) member supporter firms with more than one thousand employees.
The FSSC has the responsibility to represent the whole financial services sectors including the retail and wholesale market, banking and insurance, investment, fund management, SME's and major employers.
The purpose of MEAF is to provide a forum that is representative of major employers in financial services and their needs which will:
- Advise and work with the FSSC, to influence the government and its agencies, on skills-related agendas
- Inform and shape key parts of the FSSC strategic agenda around the needs of major employers
- Work with the FSSC to translate the skills strategy into industry solutions which are relevant and valuable to major employers in the industry
- Lead on key projects to develop and deliver timely and effective solutions, leveraging the expertise within member companies
